I've always done art. Way before I even considered music. In fact, I approach songwriting just like I would a piece of art. I very rarely plan them before I start and have no idea what the finished result will turn out like. I also do D.I.Y. like this. Every project is an adventure and takes twice as long as it should.

I did, in my early twenties sell my art, did commissioned work blardy, blah. But it soon made art a chore and I stopped trying to sell. I'm definitely no business man. Maybe in the future i may change my mind, but for now I'm happy just doing it for myself and sometimes friend's and family.

Life today can be a drag. Paying the bill's. There's always some drama or two. Don't get me wrong, I'm very lucky to have an awesome wife and have more than I ever dreamed I would have, but sometimes you just can't feel grateful. In these moment's all I need to do is grab a pencil, a piece of paper and an eraser. I don't even need imagination, and I loose myself in drawing something right in front of me.

The key to this is doing it for yourself. not to impress anyone else. That's hard to do in this age of self promotion and look at me mentality, make it only for you.

Try doing this for a year, and don't show your drawing's to anyone.

No matter how much you want too, just keep them for yourself, no pressure to perform, to be good, just doing it for you. Firstly you'll be surprised at how much you improve, but more importantly you'll discover how truly immersive and meditative it can be. Remember to enjoy it. Do art you want to do. Let your imagination run riot.

Art can be hard and frustrating but ultimately it has to be fun or what's the point.

GHOSTED. This was done in honor of an old girlfriend who obviously I wasn't over at the time.	MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE. I like using old graphic programs to create retro digital drawings.
CAT ART. I like setting up scenes & photographing them. This is a representation of my cat. I love animals and enjoy doing art with them in it.	LIDO CAFE. This is a painting I did of a cafe I worked in whilst I was at Uni. It was a big part of my life for many years and I met so many amazing people there. Just one big party, probably why I failed so many courses at Uni.
	tech vs nature I enjoy doing art cartoony art and stretching my imagination a bit.
DOG PONDERING. I've done this painting a couple of times now (1 commision.) changing the type of dog and what's in the sky. Why? I enjoy it.	dog is awe The first time I did this painting I did it for a friend who was religious and it said on the T-shirt god is awesome. She loved it and could not accept that I wasn't religious myself.
UNTITLED I have a number of vertical striped paintings. The best one I ever did was entitled Plum sauce but unfortunately I never took a photo of it before I sold it. Has happened a lot.	AN APPLE A DAY. Pencil drawing. Did you know this saying was created in the U.S.A to get the people to actually eat apples because up until then apples were only consumed as cider.
M & P. Did this painting as wedding gift, captured Preston but Misha is way more beautiful than this.	BEAUTIFUL FRANGIPANI. Did this while lounging around in Bali. I love to do art when I'm on holiday, by the pool or whatever, no chore's to do, mostly pencil, ink pens,markers and even sometimes paint. I normally give them away to someone we meet there.
JACK. I have done many a picture of Jack, we've had him for 18 years. I love him so much.	BOOM. Yet again cartoon influence. I love the whole end of the world,space what-ya-ma-call-it. I'm going to turn this into a gif one day.
SPACECHAIR_ Illustration of a chair I had in a house I lived in, amazing big old chairs. That shared house was a blast, good friends ,best parties and it was a beautiful 2 story house on a hill. What more could you ask for.	FRIEND FERMIN. This is a picture with one of my best friend's from cafe day's in it. One smooth dude and most importantly a damn good human being. How can you compete with that, damn you F.
TREE. I love this tree but never quite finish the painting the way I wanted. Might revisit this one.	TAAY. There's a long story behind Taay I'll tell you more later.

BRISBANE I like doing designs for T-shirts this is one I did to sell as a Brisbane one.	CATMAN. Our cat Luna. This was to go on a T-shirt as a dig at my wife and her obsession with our awesome dog Holly.
BILLY. Did this picture to remember our beautiful bird Billy. I love birds.	DIGITAL CLOCK. Don't worry it's not real, just cardboard &stuff. I've always liked making things out of cardboard.
OLD ANGEL. Sold this to some dude who took it all the way back to Sweden, that was pretty cool.	ROCKET MONEYBOX. Made this for the kid of a friend. Have made moneyboxes quite often.
PATH. Pencil drawing of this amazing scene I saw once. Did a painting also.	PAIN. Commissioned art. It's amazing what you get commissioned to paint. However the guy ripped me off for this one. He disappeared with painting and didn't pay me, asshole.
SMAN_ This painting came out of nowhere. Never really done anything like it since.	UNTITLED. I enjoy painting on black, unfortunately not many photo's of these paintings.
TABLE SETTING. I was fascinated by these chairs and is a number of paintings I've done. ?	DYNAMITE LAMP. I've made numerous lamps. I love lights, who doesn't.
THE HOUSE ON THE HILL. I've sold numerous versions of this painting. I like introducing word's to my art.	DRAGON ASLEEP. Paper mashay, love it!
KID'S BOOK. This is a kid's book I start. Have yet to complete it.	COKE CAN I did this one when I was very young. I think at school in art class.
ACTION JACK. Pencil drawing of our bird Jack. We've had him for 18 years. He's the best.	BLOCKS.
SAIL. I did this painting for family friend. Sailing and the ocean used to be a big part of my life. But sometimes we move on.	ISOLATED. Feel's very applicable to today.

Art -Some explanations of what I'm about.

I've always liked creating my own products, in this case as a 3d object. I often take something someone is good at and turn it in a painting of a product. My wifes workmate made wicked lemon syrup cakes and I created a painting of a fully developed product with it's own packaging.

I like doing big colourful paintings. I pretty much aiways like doing happy stuff. Not a real artist I guess.

I like painting on black. I think this one was the first. I did it at school.

I have recently been experimenting with glow in the dark paint. I love it. Definitely can't be hung in bedroom though.

I'm a big lights fan. Who isn't?
